Dance Across Borders (DAB) - ett internationellt nätverk av självständiga koreografer. Det första internationella mötet hölls på Dia Center for the Arts, New York 1995 - det andra på School for New Dance Development (SNDO), Amsterdam 1996. Det tredje mötet i Göteborg 1997 samlade koreografer och dansgrupper från Sverige, Frankrike, Irland, USA, Spanien, Estland och Tyskland. Det fjärde på Polli Talu Arts Center i Estland 2000
Vid dessa möten visas offentliga föreställningar, men de medverkande koreograferna håller också gemensamma diskussioner kring verken som visats, diskuterar estetik och kulturpolitik. En grundläggande tanke är att de deltagande koreograferna själva skall vara beredda att ordna gästspel och andra former av utbyten för nätverkets koreografer emellan de stora träffarna.

Dance Across Borders Manifesto
Dance Across Borders is an alliance of international Artists devoted to dance as artistic expression.
Our intent is to focus on awareness - why and how we dance. The goal is to bring independent proffesional dance artists together on a non-commercial basis.
We are striving to create a new cooperative structure for international exchange, based on mutual respect for the integrity of different artistic points of view. We believe that we have a responsibility to each other as artists and to the communities in which we work.
The role of any institutions involved is to support and facilitate the artists exchange.
We want to create a venue for artists to investigate cultural and environmental distinctions that inform the making of work, to share information, process and experiential learning in a manner that will stimulate creative thinking.
The exchange programs may include:
- the showing of original dance, theater, work...
- the offering of workshops
- discussions to bring diverse artists and administrators into a dialogue
- education programs that reach out to the larger communities.
How many borders can we cross?
As many as have been set... by different cultures, traditions, national interests, and prejudices...
For us, dance is the expression that makes this possible. Dance Across Borders is our movement of open minds!

Projet Danse Across Borders septembre 2006 France
Dance Across Borders, crée en 1995, est un réseau international
d’artistes renommés travaillant en collaboration avec des
administrateurs et des structures désireux de partager leurs œuvres,
leurs pratiques corporelles et pédagogiques dans un esprit coopératif et
non-commercial.
Depuis l’origine, les artistes français du réseau ont souvent été
invités à l’étranger pour des éditions de « Dance Across Borders » et
souhaitent aujourd’hui retourner l’invitation.
Jusqu’à présent, les artistes présentaient des œuvres de leur
répertoire. Pour cette première édition en France 2006, les artistes
chorégraphes, les danseurs et les éclairagistes créent ensemble sur le
thème de « site specific », in situ, pour apporter un regard différent
et une nouvelle lecture de notre patrimoine.
